The History of The Blue Barn Ranch
This 40 acre ranch was purchased in the early 80’s by Joe and Lois Lewis who named it the “Yucca Ranch” after they had planted some yucca plants on the property. The Yucca Ranch was an undeveloped land where Joe, Lois, family and friends had to work many long hours, days, and weekends to build nothing into something. They looked at it as a labor of love and got their hands dirty by putting up fencing, grading the roads, building the barn, corrals, and drilling for water. Although it was a lot of work, the time they spent together as a family here at the ranch was well cherished. Joe and Lois had dreams of one day building a home on the ranch to live in their own little slice of heaven. However, Joe and Lois eventually passed away, leaving their legacy behind.
In the early 2000’s, Joe and Lois’ daughter Robin and her husband Marcus prayerfully decided to purchase the property from their family estate. There is one thing they realized for certain, the more time you spend at the ranch, the more you fall in love with it and all it has to offer. They painted the barn blue, changed the name from “Yucca Ranch” to “Blue Barn Ranch,” and got to work paving new roads, adding a new gate, adding more out buildings and learning all of the ins and outs of hosting various events ranging from weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, bible studies, movie nights, BBQ’s, graduations, photo shoots and many, many more. They are a genuine example of hard work, dedication, and trusting God’s will.
From then…
